One interview in Columbus made me check every job posting twice now
The hiring manager spent 20 minutes asking about my hobbies and never once mentioned the actual duties or pay range, then emailed me a 'thanks but no thanks' with a link to their overpriced certification course. Has anyone else had a company basically run a sales pitch disguised as an interview?

That "thanks but no thanks" with a course link is such a tell... it's like they were never really hiring, just fishing for leads. I've noticed this whole thing bleeding into everyday life too, like how every free event or meetup now ends with someone trying to sell you something. Even the dentist office tried to upsell me on teeth whitening during a cleaning last month. It's just the way things are going, everyone's got a side hustle and the "no strings attached" part is always a lie. You just gotta keep your guard up and remember that if it feels like a sales pitch, it probably is.
