I reconsidered job hopping after it led to a promotion

I switched companies three times in five years. Each move came with a 15% pay bump, and the last one landed me a team lead role I wouldn't have gotten by staying put. Getting that wide range of experience from different places was what they really wanted.

Yeah that strategy works great in tech but in trades like mine, staying put a few years actually builds way more trust with customers. Hopping around too much can make clients think you won't finish the job lol. The money might not jump as fast but a solid reputation is what keeps you paid long term.
