Got ghosted by a recruiter after 3 rounds of interviews for a job in Austin
I spent two weeks prepping for interviews with a tech firm in Austin last month. Did a phone screen, a video call with the hiring manager, then a final round with the whole team. They said I'd hear back within 5 business days. That was 3 weeks ago and I've sent two follow-up emails with zero response. It's so frustrating when they drag you through the whole process and then vanish. Has anyone else had a company just disappear like that after promising an update?

Saw a piece on this the other day. Some companies ghost candidates because they froze hiring but don't want to admit it. Or the recruiter got laid off and nobody picked up the slack. Either way it's a bad look for them, not you. Three rounds is a lot of time to invest just to get silence. Sending two follow ups is already more than polite, you did your part. Maybe use this as a sign that their culture is messy and move on to something better.

Classic. They love wasting everyone's time.

Double down on that thought and say this is exactly why some good candidates just stop following up after a certain point. If the company can't be bothered to send a form rejection after three interviews, they probably don't respect their employees either. Take that silence as a red flag and move on, because a place that ghosted you now will likely ghost you again when you need them.
