Found a stat about job hopping that surprised me

Saw this piece on LinkedIn the other day. People who switch jobs every 2-3 years earn 50% more over their career than people who stay at one place for 10+ years. I always thought loyalty looked good on a resume. But the numbers don't lie. Has anyone here jumped around and seen a real pay bump?

Ha, so much for "taking the high road" paying the bills.

Man, that's wild to think about. I've seen that same stat floating around too. @hunt.quinn, your point about companies rewarding new hires makes sense - I knew a guy who quit for a 20% raise at another place, then came back a year later for another 15%. Loyalty didn't pay off for him, but jumping around sure did.

It actually makes sense when you think about how most companies reward new hires way more than existing employees. Loyalty often just means smaller raises while inflation eats your buying power.
