Finally landed that cold call that went nowhere for 3 months

I work in sales for a small software company in Austin. Been trying to get this one manufacturing firm to listen since January. Must have sent like 8 emails and left 4 voicemails. Yesterday I called at 11:30 AM instead of my usual 9 AM slot and the owner actually picked up. He said he'd been meaning to call me back but mornings are crazy for him. We talked for 15 minutes and he agreed to a demo next week. Now I'm wondering if I should shift my whole outreach schedule. Has anyone else found a weird time that works better for decision makers?

Yo that's huge! I had the same thing happen with a client in construction. Started hitting them up around 4:30 PM and suddenly they were way more responsive. Mornings are a total waste for decision makers I swear.

My buddy runs a roofing company and he swears by the 4 PM window too. He was getting ghosted on every morning call for months, then switched to late afternoon and closed three deals in one week. It makes sense when you think about it. Mornings are all chaos and emails and fire drills. By 4 or 5 they've cleared their heads and actually have time to talk. I genuinely feel for anyone still stuck in the old morning grind, it's a nightmare.
