Decided to track my actual work hours for 2 weeks and the result surprised me

I always thought I was putting in like 50 hours a week at my desk job but last month I used a simple timer app and tracked every minute. Turned out I was really only working about 32 hours of focused time with all the distractions and breaks added in. The other 8-10 hours were just me sitting there scrolling or daydreaming between tasks. It made me realize I was judging myself on hours spent in the chair instead of actual output. Now I just try to get my real work done in a solid 6 hours and leave when it's done. Has anyone else tried tracking like this and found similar results?

Tracked myself the same way last year. Realized my "12 hour days" were like 5 hours of actual work and 7 hours of pretending. It's wild how much time we spend looking busy instead of actually doing stuff. Makes you wonder how much of everyone's day is just theater.

Realized our brains actually need those little breaks to keep working sharp without them youd burn out way faster.
