Can we talk about people putting 'team player' on their resume with no proof?

I was helping a friend in Chicago review 30 resumes last week, and 80% had that phrase with zero examples. It just makes you blend in. What's a better way to actually show you work well with others?

Ugh, my friend had a coworker who did that. She actually wrote about helping the new guy learn the software, which showed it way better.

Yeah, that's the key. I had a line about being a team player that felt flat. So I changed it to talk about the time I stayed late to walk a panicked intern through the monthly report format. Said how I broke it down step by step until they could do it on their own. That one little story got way more comments in interviews than the old boring line ever did. What's a small win you could write about?

Totally, like @margaret_gonzalez25 said, use a real story instead.
