Wasted 3 hours on a bad coax crimper from Amazon

Bought a cheap Klein knockoff for $12 and it stripped the jacket uneven on every single connector. Ended up having to redo 8 drops in an attic in Texas heat. Has anyone else had luck with the ratcheting ones instead?

Oh man, I gotta push back on that a little... I've actually had the exact opposite experience with those cheap ratcheting ones. My $12 noname crimper has been surprisingly solid for the past year, even in tight attic spaces. Maybe you just got a dud, or I got lucky, but I wouldn't write off the whole budget category yet.

Same thing happened to me with a cheap impact driver back in the day. Everyone said spend big or waste your money, but that thing lasted me three full years before it finally gave out. @jenniferw82 you might just have the golden touch for finding decent budget gear lol.
