My old boss told me to always use a 3/4 inch drill bit for wall fish lines...

I argued that a 1/2 inch was fine for years, but after a tough job in a 1920s house with plaster and lath, his way saved me hours. Who else has a piece of advice they fought against that turned out to be right?
