Megan at the supply house let slip that a big client is switching to fiber-only next month

She said they're dumping coax entirely after a 40% failure rate in their older runs, so I'm brushing up on fusion splicing now before half my jobs vanish, anyone else hearing this from their suppliers?

Wow, 40 percent failure rate on their older coax runs? That's way higher than I've seen in my area but I guess it depends on the install quality and age of the stuff. Did Megan happen to say if that's just bad terminations or the actual cable itself going bad from weather or old age? I'm trying to figure out if this is a local thing or a bigger trend hitting everyone.

In my experience bad terminations cause most of those failures.
