MDU panel swap in Tulsa taught me to stop trusting the old labels

I had a job last month in a 12 unit building where the panel schedule said each unit had its own leg. Turned out unit 4 and 7 were sharing a neutral from a bad splice in the basement. After rechecking every damn drop for 3 hours, I started labeling everything myself with a label maker before I trust anyone else's paperwork. The previous installer probably used the same schedule for years and never had an issue, but it bites you when someone changes a light fixture wrong. Now I carry a toner and verify every line even if it takes twice as long. Has anyone else found building records that were just flat out fabricated?
