Just hit 50,000 feet of coax pulled in 18 months

I was checking my truck log last night and realized I've run 50,000 feet of RG6 since starting this job in early 2023. That's almost 10 miles of cable through attics and crawlspaces. Anyone else ever count up their total footage and get surprised?

Well would you look at that. That's a whole lot of cable, and I mean a whole lot. I bet your back and knees feel every foot of it when you're crawling around up there in the summer heat. What really gets me is how much of that 50,000 feet probably ended up as waste too. I've seen guys pull a 500 foot spool and only use 300 feet of it because of an unexpected joist or a bad termination.

Man, that's a solid number for sure. But hey @riveradams I gotta gently push back on the waste thing - in this trade, a bad termination just means you cut and re-terminate, you don't toss the whole 200 feet. That 50k is probably more like 47k of usable cable after you factor in the 3k of mistakes and extra loops. Still, your knees know that pain better than anyone.
