I know everyone hates crawl spaces, but last week I had a perfect one.
Got a job in a newer part of town, a house built just last year. The crawl space was a full four feet high, bone dry, and they had already run a conduit pipe right to the media panel. I was in and out with a clean RG6 and Cat6 pull in under an hour, which never happens. Anyone else ever get a surprise like that where the builder actually helped us out?

That's the exception that proves the rule for sure.

My last crawl space had a puddle so old I'm pretty sure it had its own ecosystem. Finding a clean one is like the builder left you a thank you note and a cold drink. I'd almost be worried I was in the wrong house.

Had its own ecosystem" is so real. I found a crawl space once with mushrooms growing out of a beam, like full-on grocery store portobellos. It felt like the house was feeding itself. So when you get a clean one, it's a total shock. You're right to be suspicious. Jordanhill gets it, that clean feeling is so rare it almost feels wrong, like you're waiting for the other shoe to drop and find a hidden swamp behind the vapor barrier.
