Heads up about those new push-fit coax connectors from the supply house

I grabbed a box of them last month thinking they'd save time on a big apartment job in Tacoma. After about 50 installs, I started getting callbacks for pixelated picture. Turns out, the cold snap we had last week made the plastic seals brittle, and they're letting moisture in. Had to go back and replace every single one with a standard crimp fitting. Anyone else run into this with the cold weather, or was I just unlucky?

Those push-fit connectors are actually rated for outdoor use.

Wait hold up, @averywilliams, I gotta jump in here lol. A lot of those connectors say they're for outdoor use, but that usually just means they won't melt in the sun. They're still not rated for being buried or stuck in constant wet dirt. You really need the proper direct-bury fittings for any underground line, the push-fit ones will fail.
