Flat rate fittings sounded like a deal, cost me $180 in truck stock

After a 6 job day out in Bakersfield I figured bulk universal compression fittings would save time, but they kept failing torque checks on repeat visits so now I carry 40 lbs of brand specific ones and a half empty wallet, anyone else ditch universal fittings for good?
