First 2 years I ran every drop freehand, now I tape a level to the stud and my wall plates finally sit straight
Honestly for my first 2 years I just eyeballed every outlet box and half my plates sat crooked, which customers in Denver pointed out more than once. Last spring a helper handed me his 6 inch torpedo level and said try taping it to the stud before you cut, and now I keep one in my pouch on every rough in. Do you all level your boxes or just trust the nail on bracket to keep things square?
