Spent 45 minutes looking for a missing boning knife yesterday

Tore apart my whole station, checked the sink, even looked in the walk-in. My apprentice finally pointed out I'd put it in the scabbard on my belt, something I never do. The whole shop got a good laugh at my expense. Anyone else ever have a tool hide in plain sight like that?

Ever think you'd never be that guy? Tbh I used to roll my eyes at stories like this. Figured it was just people not paying attention. Then last month I spent twenty minutes looking for my chalk line, getting more mad by the second. It was in my hand the whole time. My own brain just refused to see it. Honestly changed my whole view on how easy it is to miss what's right in front of you.
