Late meat truck arrivals are wrecking my daily cutting schedule
My shop depends on early morning deliveries to get the meat ready for customers. Lately, the supplier's truck rolls in hours past when they say it will. Just last Tuesday, I had to hold off on prepping pork ribs because the chicken shipment was missing. This delay means my team can't start on time, and we rush through orders. I called the company, but they keep giving excuses about route problems. Does anyone have tips for dealing with this kind of issue? How do you keep your day on track when deliveries fail?

Find a backup supplier. Their route problems are just excuses for poor service.

Route problems can be totally real though. My old supplier had a bridge wash out on their main trucking route. It took weeks to fix. Stuff like that happens and it's not always an excuse. Finding a backup is smart, but sometimes delays are just bad luck.
