Am I the only one who switched from a band saw to a hand saw for deer season
Back in 2019 I was breaking down maybe 15 deer a year for folks around here and every one of them went through my old Hobart band saw. Got tired of cleaning that thing after every animal, so I tried doing the next season with just a 22 inch hand saw and a good breaking knife. Took me longer per deer but I swear the cuts came out cleaner and I spent way less time scrubbing, so what are you all running for small batches these days?
15 deer a year through a bandsaw and you just quit cold turkey? That is wild. Cleaning a meat saw is the worst part of the whole job, all that blood and fat gumming up the wheels and guides. My father in law would have called you crazy for giving up the Hobart, guy would not break down a squirrel without power tools.
