Why does nobody talk about how chain lube attracts dust

Last week I rebuilt a customer's bike in Tucson and by the time I finished the chain was already gritty from all the dust sticking to the fresh lube. I used a wet lube like I always do but in this dry climate it seems like a bad choice. Does anyone have a go-to dry lube that actually stays clean for more than a day?

Your chain sounds like a maraca after one ride" - ha, I feel that. I once tried this fancy ceramic wax lube someone swore by, and it flaked off in chunks on my first ride in the humidity. Ended up just wiping the chain down with a rag and using plain old chain oil ever since, which is probably wrong but it works fine for me.

My chain sounds like a maraca after one ride here in Arizona.

The maraca comparison is perfect because that is exactly what it sounds like. I live in New Mexico so I get the same thing here, dry heat just destroys everything. I tried a bunch of different fancy lubes too and they all either gummed up or just vanished after one ride. Now I just use a cheap wet lube and wipe off the excess, sounds fine for about two rides before it starts again. Its honestly a losing battle and I just accept the rattle at this point.
