Torn between a Shimano 105 and Ultegra groupset for my new build

I went with the 105 to save $300 but now after 500 miles I'm wondering if the Ultegra's lighter shift action would've made that climb in Denver any easier, what did you pick and did you regret it?

Read somewhere that 105 and Ultegra shift pretty much the same under load anyway, just the Ultegra feels a bit nicer at the hoods. That $300 is a lot of extra water bottles and a fancy dinner or two.

Doubt a lighter shift action is gonna save you on a climb. Sounds like you need more miles in the legs not a new groupset.
