Spent 4 hours on a seized freehub body that just needed a 5mm hex key and a dead blow hammer.
It was a 2018 Shimano 105 hub that had never been opened, and I was about to order a whole new wheel before the old shop manager walked by and said 'did you try hitting it?', which saved me about $200.

Right, the 4mm hex... it's funny how the simplest fix is always the last thing we try.

That's a 4mm hex on Shimano freehubs, not 5mm.

Forget the 5mm, it's always the 4mm. I've seen guys strip that thing trying a bigger wrench. Then you're stuck drilling it out. Just keep a fresh 4mm in your kit and check it first. Saves so much headache.
