Hot take: I was at the salvage yard in Spokane and saw a guy using a motorcycle chain breaker on a 10-speed
He said it works perfectly for those old, hardened rivets that regular tools struggle with. Anyone else ever used a tool from a different trade like that?

It's the best kind of hack when a tool from one world solves a problem in another. You see it everywhere if you look. My grandpa used a dentist's pick to clean out tiny engine parts. The right tool doesn't care about the label on the box, it just cares if the job gets done. It makes you wonder how many other perfect fixes we miss by staying in our own lanes.

Honestly, I get the appeal but it feels risky to me. Using a tool wrong can damage your parts or the tool itself. Sometimes the right tool for the job is the one actually made for it.
