Heads up on the new Shimano 12-speed quick link design
Honestly, I used to treat all quick links the same and just snap them on with my fingers. After a customer's chain came apart on a climb last month, I looked closer at the new CN-M8100 links. They have a different lock plate and need the TL-CN10 tool to seat them right. Ngl, I've seen three come back loose in the last two weeks from other shops in town. Anyone else having to adjust their process for these?

Are these new links just more finicky in general?

Mine worked after a quick restart, maybe try that?

Honestly wonder if it's a server load thing. The restart might have just put you in a fresh queue with less traffic. These new systems sometimes buckle under a sudden rush of people all trying to connect at once. Your phone or app might be fine, but the link's endpoint could be swamped. It's less about the link being finicky and more about the backend having a bad minute.
