Had a customer bring in a bike with a squirrel nest in the seat tube

This was at my shop in Eugene last spring. A guy rolled up with his mountain bike making a weird rattling sound, and when I flipped it over, a baby squirrel fell out of the seat tube into my parts tray. I had to very carefully fish out the rest of the nest, which was mostly shredded dollar bills, with a bent spoke. Anyone else ever find wildlife living in a frame?

Honestly, shredded money is a new one. Makes you wonder what else people have pulled out of their bikes.

Had a mouse nest in a bottom bracket once. A little compressed air cleared it out without hurting anything.

That compressed air trick @quinnr40 mentioned is a solid move. I've used it on a nest in an old tool box with good results. It gets the job done without making a bigger mess.
