Can we talk about how much faster a proper bleed makes Shimano brakes feel?

Did a full bleed on my Ultegra R8070 setup after 2 years of just topping off the reservoir, and the lever feel went from mushy to rock solid in about 30 minutes. Old fluid came out dark brown with tiny bubbles I could not see through the plastic cup. The pad contact point moved way closer to the bar before, now it bites almost right away. I used the funnel and a syringe to push from the caliper up, way better than gravity. Anyone else notice their brakes feel totally different after a real bleed versus a quick top off?
