Watching my grandpa hand-write every check in the 90s vs. now just tapping my phone
Honestly, I remember sitting with my grandpa at his kitchen table in Chicago back in 1998, watching him fill out checks for every single bill. He had this little register book where he wrote down every transaction by hand, and he'd get mad if the ink smudged. Fast forward to today, I paid my rent last week by just tapping my phone on a reader at the corner store. No paper, no stamps, no waiting three business days for the check to clear. The shift happened for me around 2015 when my bank finally let me deposit checks by taking a photo. Now I barely carry cash and I never write checks unless it's for a birthday gift. Has anyone else found it weird how fast we stopped using paper money for everyday stuff?

Oh man, I mean checks are still legal tender, but most barbers I know prefer card or cash now. Idk if your buddy's barber just plays along or secretly rolls his eyes every time.
