Tried a reverse wire transfer through my credit union and it saved me $35

So I had to send money to my landlord in Austin for a deposit and he only takes wire transfers. My normal bank wanted $45 for a domestic wire. On a whim I asked my credit union if they could do it backwards - like they pull the money from my account and send it out. They charged me $10 flat and it cleared in 2 hours. Anyone else notice how credit unions are way more flexible with their payment rules than the big banks?

Right? Till they hit you with that 3-day hold on your own money.
