Three years of overpaying for wire transfers before I caught on

I was sending $45 each time to move money to my landlord in Chicago for rent. A buddy at a coffee shop last month told me he uses Zelle for free. I felt like an idiot when I checked my bank app and they had the same thing built in. How many other basic banking features am I missing that cost me money?

Figured out my bank automatically rounds up purchases to save spare change about a year ago after watching a TikTok. Was probably shorting myself five or six bucks a month before that for absolutely no reason. Banks love making money off people like us who just never check their own accounts.

Three years" - did your bank ever send you a notice about cheaper options?
