Spent 45 minutes on hold with my bank over a $27 mistake
I thought disputing a small charge would be quick. But it took me 45 minutes on the phone and three transfers to get someone who could actually help. The first person said they could only handle lost cards, not transaction disputes. The second person put me on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up. Finally the third person fixed it in like two minutes. Has anyone else had a simple issue turn into a huge time sink with their bank?

Oh man, I feel this in my soul. I once spent an hour on hold with a bank because they charged me a $2.50 fee for... having too little money in my account. Which I only had too little money because they took out a fee the month before. It was a whole spiral of dumb. I swear the universe punished me for trying to fix a tiny mistake by making me miss half my lunch break. The third person who finally helped me probably fixed it in 30 seconds, but by then I was just staring at the ceiling, questioning my life choices.

That's not the bank's fault, it's your fault for not keeping up with your own finances.

@pat_coleman that bank fee spiral is the WORST, like a financial ouroboros that just eats your lunch break. 45 minutes for a $27 mistake is basically the bank charging you your hourly wage for the privilege of fixing their own error.
