Shoutout to my old manager who said 'never trust a payment link from a text' after I almost lost $500 to a fake utility bill scam.

He drilled that into us during a team meeting last year, and it saved me when a text that looked exactly like my power company's asked for an 'overdue payment' with a link that went to a weird .biz domain.
