Serious question, my credit union in Boise replaced our debit cards with tap to pay and I keep waiting for the catch
I run a food truck here and our old card reader was a nightmare. Dial up speed, terminal fees around $40 a month, and if the swipe failed, I had to type the number in by hand while a line of 12 people stared at me. Six months ago our credit union swapped us to tap to pay cards and a cheap bluetooth reader. I figured it was a gimmick that would break in a week. First month, no failed taps, and my deposit hit a day early. Then a customer's card got skimmed somewhere else and the bank flagged it before she even knew. I'm not saying banks are my friends all of a sudden. For anyone else running a small counter business, did tap to pay actually hold up for you after a year, or am I just in the honeymoon phase?
