My bank's app decided I was a robot and locked me out for 48 hours

This happened last Thursday afternoon. I was trying to send a $275 payment to my contractor for a fence repair. I logged in, hit send, and the app just froze. I closed it and tried again, and it said my account was locked for 'suspicious activity.' I called the support line, and after 45 minutes on hold, the guy told me their fraud system flagged me because I logged in from my home Wi-Fi, then my mobile data when the Wi-Fi was slow. He said the lock was automatic and would take 'up to two business days' to clear. I had to drive to a branch on Friday with a paper check. Has anyone else been flagged by their own bank for just using their phone normally? What's the dumbest reason you've been locked out?

Up to two business days" is the real crime here.

My own bank once locked my card because I bought a tank of gas and then a coffee across the street. I guess my Saturday morning was just too wild for them. You'd think they'd want me to be awake for the drive home.

Yeah, I got locked out once for buying a plane ticket and then a sandwich at the airport. The fraud guy said the two purchases were in different terminals so it looked weird. I had to call and verify it was me. Now I just call them before I travel and tell them to note my account. It's a hassle, but it beats being stuck without a card.
