My bank flagged a $400 transfer to my contractor in Phoenix as fraud last month.
I was at a job site trying to pay him, and the app just locked me out. Had to call and verify three recent purchases to get it cleared. Has your bank's fraud detection ever blocked a payment you knew was legit?

That "verify three recent purchases" thing gets me every time. I wonder if it's less about the amount and more about the location data. Your phone was in Phoenix paying a local business, but your bank might still think your home address is somewhere else. The system probably saw a payment in a new city and just panicked. Mine did that when I bought supplies on a trip last year, even though I'd told them I was traveling.

So what if they also track the time between purchases as a risk factor?

Started using one specific app for all my contractor payments and now my bank knows the pattern. They flag anything new but let those slide right through after the first few times. Also set notifications for every transaction so I can approve them instantly on my phone before they freeze my account. Took a couple calls to get it straight but now it just works.
