Just read that 47% of Gen Z uses BNPL for groceries now

Saw a stat from a Fed study last week that nearly half of young adults are using buy now pay later for basic stuff like food, which honestly caught me off guard. Has anyone else seen their clients or friends leaning super hard on these apps for everyday purchases?

Are they using BNPL because they have to or just because it's convenient?

Oh man, here's the thing nobody's talking about - some people are using BNPL because it actually helps them budget BETTER, not because they're broke. I've got a buddy who uses it for his yearly plane tickets to visit family. Drops like $600 on flights but spreads it over 4 payments from his checking account. It's like forced savings without interest if you pay on time. Meanwhile my sister uses it for a $40 sweater and I'm like really? Just swipe your debit card. The wild part is how the same tool can be a lifesaver for one person and a trap for another depending on what you're buying and whether you actually have the cash sitting there.
