Finally got my business checking to stop charging that $15 monthly fee after I set up a $500 auto-transfer from my personal account, something I'd been putting off for months.

I learned the bank's system doesn't actually check where the money comes from, just that the transfer hits, so now I have a silly little monthly money circle going between my own accounts.

Actually, I think it's pretty smart to set up that transfer loop. Banks make enough money without that extra fee. @nancy_smith, I get being careful, but this is just using their own rules. My credit union does the same thing, a small direct deposit waives the fee, and it can be from anywhere. It's not gaming the system, it's just meeting their simple requirement.
