Vent: People keep mixing up the 'End of Evangelion' movie with the TV show finale

I was in a thread last week and three separate people argued that the movie is just a recap of episodes 25 and 26, which is completely wrong. The movie is the actual, intended ending that replaces the TV budget finale, and knowing this changes how you see the whole story. Has anyone else had to clear this up for a friend who was totally confused?

Right? @derek656, it's wild how many people think that. The movie is the REAL ending, the TV one was just because they ran out of money.
