Looking back at old anime forum threads is a trip

I was digging through some archived posts from a 2005 forum and saw that a single episode of Naruto took over 12 hours to download for some people. Found that stat on a Wayback Machine snapshot of an old fansub hub. Makes you appreciate how easy we have it now, huh?

TIL I was totally missing the point of 'watch order' debates

I always just watched shows in release order, but a friend in Chicago pointed out that for something like the Fate series, following the visual novel's intended route makes the themes way clearer. It clicked for me after trying the 'Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works' anime first instead of the 2006 version. Has anyone else had a show make more sense after switching up the order?

I think the hate for the new My Hero Academia season is totally wrong

Last week at the local anime club in Denver, everyone was trashing the season for being 'too slow'. I watched the same episodes and saw them building up the villains in a way we haven't seen before. The focus on Shigaraki's past in episode 4 actually made me care about the conflict more. Has anyone else felt like the popular take is missing the point?

At the Denver anime con, I saw a spoiler war ruin a whole panel chat.

Someone shouted a major Attack on Titan ending detail before the moderator could even start. How do you handle spoilers in big group talks now?

Question about the 'sub vs. dub' debate for a first-time viewer

My friend was starting 'Attack on Titan' and I told him to go with the sub (the Japanese voice acting just hits different, you know?). He came back after three episodes totally hooked, so I guess the choice worked out.
