Wait, was he the one who chose Re:Zero or was it your idea to watch it together? That makes a big difference in how brutal the spoiler really was. Did he at least get to enjoy the loop reveal before you accidentally dropped the bomb?

Oh it was totally his idea to watch it, he was the big Re:Zero fan trying to get me into it. That's what made it even worse honestly, because he'd been going on about how mindblowing the twist was and I just blurted out something about Subaru's loops while we were standing there waiting for our tonkotsu. He froze like I'd just told him the ending of a murder mystery and I had to backtrack real fast. I think he was more mad that I ruined the surprise for him than he was about me saying it in front of a whole line of strangers though.
