Spent $150 on a Crunchyroll sub for a year and it actually saved me from impulse buys
I kept buying random blu-rays every month because I wanted to watch stuff right away. Finally caved and got the annual mega fan plan for $150 back in March. Now I just stream everything and only buy physical copies of shows I actually rewatch. Has anyone else noticed their wallet getting lighter after switching to streaming only?

Yeah I totally get what you mean about "saved me from impulse buys." I used to be the guy who said streaming was a waste and physical media was the only way to go. But after I did the math on how many random movies I was grabbing just because they were on sale at Best Buy it was honestly embarrassing. Having a full library to browse kinda killed that urge to buy something just to have something new to watch. Now I only grab discs for the stuff I actually rewatch like once a year or more.

You actually counted up all your impulse buys?

Wow, that's a really interesting perspective @kevin_harris78 and it makes me wonder if the real benefit of streaming is actually retraining our brains to be more thoughtful about what we actually value. Having instant access to everything could be making us better at distinguishing between a momentary want and something genuinely worth owning. Do you think that's changed how you feel about other purchases outside of movies too?
