Rant: Sub vs Dub debate took me 3 hours to settle with my own brother
I spent a whole afternoon arguing with my brother about whether subbed or dubbed One Piece is better, and even after pulling up timestamp comparisons from episode 278, we still didn't agree, so what's your go-to way to end these arguments without losing a Friday?

Just agree to watch one episode in sub and one in dub, then call it a draw.

My friend tried this exact thing with Attack on Titan a few years back. She wanted subbed, her boyfriend wanted dubbed, and they did one of each per night for a week. The problem was she kept pausing the dubbed one to point out how the lip flaps didn't match, and he kept zoning out during the subbed one because he couldn't read that fast. It actually worked okay for them because they realized neither version was perfect for both of them. They ended up just watching the Japanese audio with English subtitles from then on, but only because he agreed to practice reading the subs with slower shows at first. So if you can, pick something with simpler dialogue for the first few episodes to make the transition easier.
