Paid $60 for a Crunchyroll mega fan pass and realized I only watch 2 shows a season
Cancelled my subscription last week after seeing I streamed 6 episodes total in 3 months. That's $10 an episode for stuff that was mostly on the free tier anyway. Anyone else paying for a tier they don't actually use, or is it just me being lazy about downgrading?
That bit about paying $10 an episode for stuff that was mostly on the free tier hits home, because the free tier math is the real kicker here. If you're only watching a couple shows and they aren't even locked behind the paywall, you're basically paying for the convenience of ads being gone, which is a pretty rough trade at $60 a year. Set a calendar reminder to check your watch history a month before it renews, since being lazy about downgrading is exactly how these companies keep making money off us.
