My subbed to dubbed switch happened in one single episode
I watched One Piece exclusively subbed for about 6 years, no problem. Then last Tuesday I put on episode 1089 while eating dinner and accidentally left the English dub on. By the halfway point I realized I wasn't even reading the subtitles anymore, I was just following along with the voices. The weird part is I've hated dubs since my first crunchyroll login back in 2018. It felt like someone had swapped out my coffee for decaf and I didn't notice until the cup was empty. Now I'm rewatching the whole Wano arc dubbed and it's like a totally different show, Luffy sounds way more goofy but also way more confident. Has anyone else made this jump after years of being a sub purist? What episode or moment finally broke you?

That happened to me with Naruto, but backwards. I watched the dub for years then one random filler episode I accidentally had the sub on and suddenly Sasuke sounded like a real person instead of a moody teenager doing a bad Batman impression. Now I can't go back, it's like Ive been hearing the wrong version of a song my whole life.
