My old anime forum archive just vanished overnight

I was trying to find a specific thread from 2012 about the ending of 'Code Geass' last Thursday, and the entire fan-run forum I used to visit was just gone. It had thousands of posts debating everything from character motives to alternate theories. I spent about two hours searching through the Wayback Machine, but a lot of the image links were broken. It feels weird that a place with so much discussion can just disappear like that. Has anyone else lost a favorite old forum and found a good way to save those talks?

Ugh, that's the worst kind of internet heartbreak. @dianal94 has a good point about checking for a Discord, because my old gaming forum did the same fade and the crew just moved to a new spot. Honestly, saving those talks is so hard once the site itself is gone.

Man that's the worst feeling. The Wayback Machine is a lifesaver but it's so hit or miss with images. Did you check if anyone from that old forum community migrated somewhere else? Like a Discord server or a subreddit? Sometimes the core users regroup.

The Code Geass ending debates were mostly just people repeating the same three points for years. It's not exactly lost history.
