My friend told me to skip the first 10 episodes of 'One Piece' and just read a summary.

I did it, but now I feel zero connection to the crew and regret it completely. Has anyone else had a watch-order suggestion backfire this hard?

Totally get that. Skipping the intro episodes is a classic mistake. You miss all the little moments that make you care about the characters.

Tell me about it. I tried skipping ahead once and felt totally lost when a character made a big deal out of some old inside joke.

Saw a thing online that called those early episodes the "emotional homework" for the show. It really is like that. You gotta put in the time to learn why everyone acts the way they do later. Otherwise the big plot twists just feel empty, you know? Rushing to the "good parts" kinda ruins the whole point.
