Just realized I've been holding my clay sculpting tool backward for 7 years
I was watching a YouTube tutorial on facial proportions last night when the guy casually mentioned holding the loop tool with the curve facing down. I've had mine flipped the whole time. All those little divots and uneven eye sockets make sense now. Has anyone else had a similar moment where you found out you were doing a basic technique completely ass-backwards?

Yeah but that's kind of how most of life works, right? You go along doing something a certain way for years and then one tiny video or conversation just flips everything you knew upside down. It's humbling but honestly kind of freeing to realize you can still learn the basics all over again.

Hold on @annas87, isn't it more like everything stays the same until you finally notice what was there all along? The basics don't really flip, you just finally see them for what they are.

Yeah I read something similar in an old book once, it said the same thing about just seeing what was already there.
