I Was Wrong About Filler Episodes, Turns Out They Build Character
For like 5 years I skipped every filler arc in Naruto Shippuden because some forum post said they were trash. Last month I gave up waiting for a new season of something and went back to watch the full series from the start, fillers included. Man, I missed so much context about side characters like Shino and Tenten that made the canon fights hit harder. The filler where Team 10 deals with Asuma's death gave me a lump in my throat that I never got from the manga recap. Now I'm going through Bleach fillers too and honestly the Bount arc is not the disaster everyone said, it's just slow. Do you guys skip fillers blindly or actually watch them when they add layers to the world?
see I have to disagree with you there. filler is filler for a reason, it's stuff the manga didn't write because it wasn't important to the story. watching Team 10 deal with Asuma's death is fine but that emotional beat exists in canon too, just more efficiently. and the Bount arc being slow is the problem, I don't watch anime to sit through 20 episodes of nothing happening when I could be moving the plot forward. some people have limited time and want the actual story, not padding.
