Finished my 250th anime and it just hit me how much time I've burned
Started watching in 2020 during lockdown and now I'm at 250 completed shows according to MAL. That's like 8 straight months of constant watching if each is 24 minutes per episode. Anyone else ever do the math on their total hours and feel weird about it?

At what point does a hobby turn into a second full-time job?

Set a timer, that's what finally clicked for me. I give myself 2 hours max for my side project, even if I'm in the middle of something fun, I stop and walk away when the timer goes off. Once I started tracking actual hours (like with a stopwatch on my phone) I realized I was easily spending 15-20 hours a week on what I thought was "just a little hobby." It really helped me see the line before I crossed it, you know?
