Dropping the manga mid-arc changed how I watch anime

I kept getting annoyed waiting week to week for episodes, so I tried reading the source material up through a certain fight in One Piece, around chapter 1040. Turns out watching it later without knowing every single panel beat made me enjoy the anime more, not less. Now I just switch to the dub and don't stress over spoiler tags. Anyone else find that going in half-blind makes the show hit harder?
