Appreciation post: dropped $85 on those glow in the dark anime figures at a con in Dallas, and they just sit in a box now
I got caught up in the hype at the vendor hall last March and grabbed four of them thinking they'd look great on my shelf, but the paint jobs are so rough up close that I shoved them in a closet. What's the dumbest impulse buy you've made at a convention?

Just sit in a box now" is the part I'd push back on, because that's still better than my shelf situation. I bought a $60 sword at a con that turned out to be way too sharp to display anywhere in an apartment with a cat, so it lives behind the couch. At least glow in the dark stuff does something cool when the lights go off, even if the paint is rough.
